I cannot tell you to read this book enough. I’ve read finance books, I’ve been around people who are investors, economists–this is what most people need to read. Simple, concise, honest, and not at all judgmental. If you want to get out of debt, pick up good solid skills for managing your own money and have a book at hand that actively encourages you to do the work to get OUT of debt, this is the book. No gizmos, no seminars, just you, some real advice, and some pen and paper. Bam. You stick to the book for awhile, you’ll see results. I’m already approaching how I handle my bills differently, I feel better about my chances for getting out debt. One of the big take-home lessons in the book is that like all the awesome stuff in life, getting out of debt is worth doing smartly, and well. Staying out of debt after that, while hard, is also just as worth doing.
