I bought this book because I was trying to curb a bad shopping habit. I have tons of shoes and bags, many that I never even worn. I liked how the author gets to the root of the problem and gave me strategies to help myself not want to shop. Believe me, I have my eye on a new Coach bag, but I am waiting and going to ask for it for my birthday. I rather put that extra money into an account to save for a girls trip to Miami. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to beat their addiction to retail therapy! It helped me so it will help anybody!

This book is the BEST on the subject, great for compulsive shoppers (like, eh, ME!)! It’s about controlling the urge to shop and helps you think before you do it. I refer back to it to keep me motivated. This book is for anyone shopping anywhere – it’s not just for ritzy stores – it’s for ANY store. It’s not about where – it’s about WHY. It teaches you to think differently and changes your mindset on shopping. The info is definitely new to me – there are so many great tips and totally changed my perspective. I shopped at department stores and garage sales & ended up having a room full of stuff I wasn’t using. I recommend this book for anyone who has a compulsion to shop. I read so many books on money and this is by far my favorite one because it actually helped me! Just ask my husband! LOL

This was the only book that actually helped me to stop shopping. I used to shop with my friends on the weekends, during my lunch hour, online and my charges were adding up.
I had clothes with tags on them and there are only 5 days in a work week, did I really need all these clothes? This book helped me to to realize that my hard earned money is important
and to stop making the stores richer. I am working on paying cash for everything and bringing lunch to work – this way I stay inside and out of stores! Plus I saved that money for the past 2 weeks which was almost $80! If I only stop eating out at lunch I’ll save $160 a month and then almost $2k in one year. If I can just do that small change, I can save for my goals and pay off my cards in full. I am sticking to my goal because if I don’t do something now, it will be worse next year. I really recommend this book for anyone who is like me and needs good advice!!!!
